Hebrews 12:28-29

Hebrews 12:28-29 – Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

In this life we will be shaken. There are things that come our way that shake us to the very core. Sometimes we feel as if we cannot go on. Our strength seems to fail us and we cannot stand. Then we lean on God.
When we accepted Christ into our life we were brought into God’s kingdom. Now God’s kingdom is not like anything that we can see here in the natural. God’s kingdom is set and cannot be shaken. I say “God’s” kingdom, which ultimately it is, but we can now also call it our kingdom because He is giving it to us.
God wants His kingdom to come here on earth as it is in heaven and you and I are the ones through whom it will come. So let us be thankful that God has brought us into His family and is giving us an unshakable kingdom. Nothing can come against our kingdom.
So now when life attempts to shake you, stand firm in the knowledge that God is with you and He cannot be shaken. Be thankful and worship God with the proper awe and reverence. We must give Him all honor and glory and understand His power, because our “God is a consuming fire.”
