1 Peter 2:9

1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praise of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

Sometimes it is hard to wrap my mind around all that God has done for us and how He sees us. If you struggle with self-confidence and your identity in Christ this scripture is for you.
We know that God has called us. He brought us from darkness into His light. Now as believers in His kingdom we must realize where He has placed us. We are a chosen people. God chose us, more specifically He chose you. God made you a royal priest in His family of priests.
You are also part of a Holy nation. This is not a nation of the earth, but of heaven, because “we are aliens and strangers to this world in which we temporarily live.”
We are in the world, but we are not of the world. This gives us reason to rejoice and sing praise to God. And this verse says we are to not only to sing praise to God, we are to declare it. It is a declaration of praise that we make by our lifestyle.
All that we say and do ought to declare praise to God, but this will only happen when we get the revelation of who we are in Him and that comes through faith. Our faith comes by hearing the Word of God so say this scripture with me: “I am a member of a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God!!”
