2 Peter 3:9

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow in keeping His promises, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

We often plan out our lives in a certain way. There are goals set and ideas of where we think that we ought to be in a set period of time. Maybe you have a 5 year plan or a 10 year plan, or maybe you have both. Your plan may be based on on your own wants and desires or it could be based on something the Lord has told you specifically.
When things don’t go according to our plan we get frustrated. We start looking for something or someone to blame. Sometimes that person we are blaming is God. We figure He promised us and if we do not see it right now something is wrong.
When God makes a promise there is something we need to keep in mind. First, God is faithful and will always fulfill the promises He has made. We just need to trust Him. And second, God’s timing is not necessarily our timing. We see only a small perspective: our own. God sees the full picture.
Ultimately God’s desire is that everyone comes to know Him. What if you getting what you want today resulted in one less person coming to know God? Would it be worth it to wait if you knew that your waiting a little longer could save a life? Think about that the next time you are waiting for something. Instead of blaming God, ask Him to show you His view on the situation. And keep your eyes open to opportunities to share Him with someone.
