2 Corinthians 3:18

2 Corinthians 3:18 - And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Do you Love God? Have you accepted Christ in your life and do you live by His example? If you answered yes then the truth in this verse is for you. You are a reflection of the glory of God; you are being transformed into His likeness.

Our number one goal on this earth should be to reflect God’s glory. That is why in the beginning we were created in His image, so that we would reflect His glory. We were created to be like God. Sure, we messed up and let sin come into the world and into our lives. Sin stained the perfect image that God had created us to be, but now things are returning to their original state. At least with you and me.

See, Christ came and took our sin, and now as we draw closer to Him, we are becoming more like Him. Then, as we grow more like Jesus we reflect God’s glory more and more.

Do you feel like your life does not reflect God as it should? Then you are in a good place. If you actually thought you had arrived, then you would have a lot more work to do.

When you come to the knowledge that you are not perfect yet, it shows you are ready to start or well on your way. They say that knowing you have a problem is the first step to solving it.

When you acknowledge that you do not reflect God’s glory as much as you should, then you are in the perfect place for God to start working in your life. When you get down to it, the only thing we can do anyway is seek God. Seek God and let Him transform you into His likeness.

Hebrews 1:3

Hebrews 1:3 – The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful Word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven.

         Jesus said, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.” In this passage we see Jesus described as “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being.” Think about that: we were created in the image of God, but Jesus is God. You look at Jesus and you see God. They are unified to the point of being one and the same. They are all powerful, and sustain all things by their Word.

         Jesus represents God here on earth. Without Him we would have nothing. He sustains everything by His Word and through Him we receive purification from sin. All the sins of the world, both past and present, were placed on His shoulders and He went to the grave. When resurrected the sin was gone and Jesus sat down at the right hand of God.

        Now that Jesus is in heaven His earthly role falls to us. I’m not talking about purification for sin, that’s already been taken care of. I am talking about reflecting God’s glory. Ephesians tells us we are to “be imitators of God.” Now we cannot be an exact representation as Jesus was, but through Jesus we can still represent Him.   We must strive to imitate God and reflect His glory in all that we do.

       So if Jesus, the Son, is the radiance of God’s glory, we must be like the 'moon' and reflect the glory of the Son.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 – Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We all have something in our life that has held us back, whether it is fear, sin, or just lack of confidence. Whatever it is we all desire to be free from it. We desire to be able to serve God with no hindrances. In the Spirit we can have that freedom, and as long as we have accepted Christ we already have the Spirit.

Just because we have the Spirit doesn't mean we are free, though. The freedom is there, waiting for us, but we have to receive it. It is time for us to let go of everything and give it all to Christ. He has set us free and it is up to us to take hold of that freedom. As we do we will see our lives transform. Maybe not all at once, but it will happen.

We were created in the image and glory of God, and as we serve Him we reflect His glory to those around us. This becomes more evident in our lives as we let the Spirit take over and do His work in us. Then, as the Spirit works in us we will see our lives begin to look more like Christ’s. He was and is our example. Jesus life was a reflection of the Father and we also, ought to reflect God in all we do.

So whatever the obstacle; whatever has been holding you back, let go in Jesus name and live in the freedom of the Spirit. Let the Spirit transform you back into the image and glory of God. Then live your life to reflect His glory as you give Him all the glory for all you do. It is not yours and you are nothing without Him, but through Him we can do all things. I pray that you live every moment of your life for Him as you continually give Him the glory.
