1 Peter 3:15

1 Peter 3:15 - But in your heart set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

Has anyone ever asked you why you believe in Christ? Sometimes it can catch you off guard because you are not expecting it. You are going about your day and then the question comes. Are you ready?

  I can honestly say that there have been times in my life when the opportunity has presented itself and I was not prepared. If this has happened to you, don’t worry about it. Brush it off. There’s nothing you can do about that particular situation, because it is in the past.

What you can do though, is make sure it doesn't happen again. Take the time to think about it. Why do you believe in Christ? There is no generic answer to this question, it is personal.

When people ask you why you believe they are not looking for a ‘cookie cutter’ answer mixed with a few bible verses. They want to hear your story. It’s personal, so make it that way. What caused you to turn to Jesus? Was there a situation that changed your life?

It can take some thought, but if you look inside yourself you will find the answer. Mix the Word with your story and it will be powerful. The bible says, “They will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.” Christ in your life gives you power. So take the time so that when asked you will be ready to give an answer. Tell people your experience and what God has brought you through.
