Romans 14:13 - Therefore let us stop passing judgement on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brothers way.
How many times have you screwed up? If you are honest with yourself the answer to this question would be more times then you could count. If this is true why do we constantly judge others when they mess up? I think part of the reason is that we are in competition and we think that it will make us look better. If we point out others mistakes our own won’t look quite as bad, or so we think.
What it comes down to is that we are trying to make ourselves look better at the expense of others. This should not be. We need to be working together. Jesus told us that He wants us to be in unity as He and the Father are unified. We can’t do this if we are constantly judging each other.
When we judge others it breaks us apart and separates us. We should be trying to move the other way, towards unity and working together. How can we ever be unified if we are constantly picking each other apart? We can’t; that’s the point! Stop judging; stop trying to make others fall. Instead, if you see someone that is weak in an area or has messed up, help them.
If we work together and help protect each other in our weak areas we will all grow stronger. And on top of that we will be able to do more for Jesus. His desire is that we work together. When we do this we can accomplish so much more than on our own.
So instead of picking at another's faults and judging them, help them. Do what you can to help keep them from falling. Remove stumbling blocks from their paths. It is really all about Love. Love your neighbor and treat them how you want to be treated.
