2 Corinthians 6:1-2

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 - As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

God showers His grace on us everyday. Do not let it be for nothing. God gives His grace to us so that we can be found worthy to live for Him.
We are His workers, which obviously means that He has work for us to do. What does He have for us? First and foremost we are to reflect His glory in all that we do. That is an overall goal for us, but the specifics are more personal.
As far as the work God has for you on a day to day basis it depends on you. We all have different lives and different people that we are put here to influence for Him. What we must understand, though, is that we have no time to wait.
Once we have received our salvation we know we are OK, but what about those around us? What are you doing to have a positive influence on the people in your life? It is time that we start fulfilling the plan God has for us.
For many of us I think we put off working for God thinking that ‘someday’ He will use us for His glory. Well, I want to tell you that ‘someday’ has come! “Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
We are walking in God’s favor everyday and must spread the message of salvation. There is no time to waste. Do not receive God’s grace in vain. Make the most of everyday and every opportunity. Let your life and actions reflect God’s glory as you minister Love to those around you.

1 Peter 4:10

1 Peter 4:10 - Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

God’s grace flows through you. How, you ask? It flows through you every time you reach out and help someone. You see, it’s not enough that we just receive the grace of God, we must do something with it. It is by grace that we receive God’s Love; it is by grace that we receive salvation; and it is by grace that we receive our talents and abilities.
We have received a free gift and the Word says, “freely you have received, freely give.” Now we must also realize that God has given us talents and abilities. Any skills that you have were given by God for a specific purpose. Your talents and abilities were not given to you to bring glory to yourself. They were also not given for you to keep to yourself.
God designed each one of us to help those around us. And when we do, when we use our gifts to help others, we are showing God’s grace. Basically, now that we have received His grace, we have become an instrument for administering it.
So don’t hide your talents. Don’t keep your abilities to yourself. Use them to build up the body of Christ. Be faithful with it. Don’t give up. God sees what you are doing and as you remain faithful to Him, He will use you more and more. Freely you have received; freely give.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 – As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Do not receive God’s grace in vain and don’t take it for granted. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).” God has shed His grace upon you and given you what you don’t deserve. That is what grace is. God’s mercy keeps us from receiving the punishment that we do deserve and His grace allows us to walk in the freedom and blessings of Christ. Don’t take advantage of it.
In verse two we see some of what God’s grace entitles us to. God said, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Well today is that day; now is that time. We are living in the time of God’s favor and the day of His salvation. By His grace we receive salvation from our sins, and we are able to walk in the favor of God. That means He hears us and helps us in everything.
Whatever you say to God, He is listening. Your prayers will not return to you empty. God hears them and will answer. And His favor covers you like a shield. As you are going about your business from day to day you will see God’s favor on you. All that you have is from Him. That is why we are reminded “not to receive God’s grace in vain.”

God has opened up His heart and resources to you, but you have to receive them. Don’t let your heart be hard or stubborn. Surrender yourself to God and let Him guide you into His favor.
